Perhaps you've heard her name from her charity work, and her spirited protests against beastfolk mistreatment. Perhaps you know her from the bloodsands, a minor champion of the tournament circuit known for her bestial, brutal fighting style and singleminded hatred of dragoons. Perhaps you were living a life of quiet desperation, until a dark knight held your tormentor's throat to a sword and offered to let you make the final cut.Perhaps she's just that drunk girl you found under a table gnawing on a knucklebone.No matter where you've seen her, you've probably only seen one side of Dione Averre.

Basics

- Goes by Dione, and sometimes by Founahm (Dragonspeak for songbird or "Chirpy"). She has other names that can be dug up, if one is interested and persistent enough.
- She/her.
- 4'9" (and 3/4". The 3/4" is very important.)
- 26 years old (born on the 5th Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon). Ages in realtime, 1 year per Earth year.
- Steppe born, Coerthan raised. Speaks with a Brume accent.
- Fluent in Eorzean; knows a passable amount of Old Elezen (French). Her Dragonspeak is also alright, for a youngling.
- Speaks Xaelic roughly and non-natively.
- Knows a few words in Hingan and Garlean.
- Can communicate in ESL (Eorzean Sign Language) and Garlean Sign Language.

Appearance

- With fangs and claws on both hands and feet, and an odd, reptilian facial structure, she evinces uncanny-valley reactions in most hyur and elezen. She looks fine to Steppe Xaela, though she is on the feral end.- Forked blue tongue, blue internals. She bleeds red like anyone else, however.- Short but stocky and somewhat muscular.- Two larger horns above her regular ones, recently grown in, give her an eerie resemblance to Nidhogg.- She has extra scales (anatomical nudity) that cover the front of her torso, from cleavage-line to navel, like a bodice.Like a male Xaela, her back also has a plate of scales protecting her spine; if your character focuses on these as a way to perceive gender, she may look like an extremely short man or a young lad from the back, especially since her clothing style tends towards androgynous. She doesn't mind being male-gendered or assumed to be a man, though her pronouns are still she/her. She's just a very butch lass.- As a dragon, she's a black, hornless, four-legged creature about 15' high and 25' long, with vivid red-and-white earfins.

Likes/Dislikes

- Likes: dragons, cooking, carpentry, chocobos, raw meat, teaching children, rum, leatherwork (including the skinning and tanning part), physical combat, spicy dishes, fluffy sweaters, trying unusual meats
- Dislikes: Ishgardian loyalists, dragon hunters, the arrogant rich, noise when she's trying to sleep, arcanima, deep water and ice fields, sweets
- Collects: knives (ideally in pairs), Triple Triad cards, every drawing her kids ever made, vuln stacks

Notable Traits

- Often accompanied by Ais Neeh, a dragonet she adopted as her daughter, and her white chocobo, Tsever. (The name is Xaelic for "pure".)
- Has the aetheric presence of a dark knight, but a very small aetherpool. Can be gravely wounded by aether-draining magicks. ⚠️(Doing so will earn you enmity with Dione.)⚠️
- Detests abusers, to the point of physical aggression. Don't hurt women, kids or the vulnerable around her.
- Outside of Ishgard, she sometimes wears a rosary around her wrist or under her shirt. Those who fought in the Dragonsong War would recognise it as a heretic rosary. It's wooden and well worn from many years of being handled, but the central pendant is still distinctly dragon-shaped.
- Can hold her booze and spice well, and likes big meals. Challenge her to an eating or drinking contest and you'll probably get a taker, and may make a fast friend.

- Starlight Joust 2020 (Ishgard, Balmung) - Finalist- U Tribe Tournament 2020 (Crystal) - Champion- Friday Night Fights 2019 (Whispered Wish, Mateus) - ChampionDione has fought in RP tournaments at various venues since 2018, including but not limited to: The Dawn Throne, The Proving Grounds, The Admiral's Boot, The Grindstone, The Gin Mill, the outside of her FC (NEST), the outside of her FC (White Wings), and Bokh. If you want to say you saw her at a certain fight club, it's entirely plausible she could have been there, even if only to watch.Dione fights with twin daggers, fists and feet. She's not known to use her greatsword in the ring; however, she has been known to carry a Dravanian herb known as fireweed into the ring, and to chew it in order to produce large gouts of flame from her maw.

Hooks

- Charity Work: Commander of the Kestrel, the airship that holds the White Wings' travelling clinic and aid service. The Wings often set up in impoverished or war-stricken areas to provide free medical care, and flyers advertising said clinics appear in major city-states, as well as in areas near beastfolk territory.It's clear that Dione herself is something of a philanthropist, seemingly flush with cash, though since she seems to give more away than she earns, it's unclear where she gets it.- Friend to Beastfolk: Known for beastfolk outreach and for setting up free clinics near beastfolk areas, she has a good reputation among certain groups of Qiqirn, Sahagin and Amalj'aa. She's also known in Dravania, by the hunters of Tailfeather and (with mixed reputation) by the dragons of Anyx Trine.- Meat 'n' Greet: Where Dione sells the meat she hunts. The event runs twice monthly, on alternate Lightningsdays (Thursdays), from the fifth bell (5PST/8EST) to the seventh. More details at the carrd.- Artisan Woodcrafts: Dione is a crafter of wooden carvings and toys, which she sells from the Kestrel's Meat 'n' Greet or at markets further afield. You may have seen her around the Carpenter's Guild in Gridania, where she's friendly with Beatin. You also may wish to hire her for an event! More details at her stall's carrd.- Leatherwork: To a lesser extent, one may know her as an up-and-coming leatherworker. Her specialty is in chocobo harnesses and barding, and she also crafts leather armour for those in need of flexible yet durable protective gear.- Ishgardian Connections: Nobles Hate Her! Known for sniffing around Ishgard and other city-states poking her nose into people's troubles, especially those that might involve corrupt authorities. She can be hired directly to investigate crimes against the vulnerable, and you may hear of these services through her more legitimate businesses, or through word on the street. You also might know her from the Firmament, where she helps out sawing wood and tanning leather.- Gambler: Dione enjoys a spot of Triple Triad, and has her own custom deck OOC that I use in IC interactions. Feel free to challenge her to a game, whether for gil or just the thrill!- Draconic Dark Knight: Those sensitive to aether may be able to detect her aura of darkness, and those who rely on scent as their primary sense may note that she smells like a dragon. Her signature move in gladiatorial tournaments involves breathing fire, and she doesn't exactly hide her connections to dragons very well, being that much of her art and jewelry features them.
